Grumman F-14 Tomcat

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an air superiority fighter, developed for the US Navy. The Mach 2-plus F-14, with its remarkable 'swing-wing', operated from aircraft carriers.Grumman built 632 aircraft for the Navy plus 80 for Iran. The first flight took place on 21 December 1971. An upgraded variant was the F-14B and a much improved version the F-14D with new engines and digital avionics. In September 2006 the US Navy retired its last F-14's after more than 30 years of service.
