Consolidated PBY Catalina
The Consolidated Catalina is the most famous of all amphibians and seaplanes. The first flight was on 28 March 1935 and it was built in six main variants: PBY-1 to PBY-6. the type was extensively used by the US Navy during World War II for search and rescue, anti-submarine warfare, reconnaissance, attack and freight and mail services. About 2,500 were built and 380 were transferred to the USAAF as OA-10. A small number of the aircraft still survives.
