Convairliner / Metropolitan
The Convairliner / Metropolitan are not the most beautiful airliners in my opinion, but at the time of development - the first years after World War II - they were the most advanced short-haul airliners of their time. And after taking the above picture of the beautiful CV-580 aircraft of the Norwegian airline Partnair, these airliners won my heart as a favourite as well.
I have seen and photographed a small number of these airliners during the years, but missed the days that they were in service with the big airlines. Most of them I saw in the USA, but very often in a very bad condition at scrapyards.
